The film anxieties Mike and Matt (Fife and McGee), two broke
writing associates and best friends, waiting for their big break. When Mike's
ex-girlfriend Deanna (Bowden) comes back into his life, Matt will do anything
to save his only friend from another broken heart. A True Story is a film
within a film...within a film, as we see the less fashionable side of
Hollywood. The story is not, however, comprehensive to the LA scene. It's a
story about fighting temptation, preserving integrity, and keeping track of
what's really imperative in life: the people that really love you and would do
anything for you, however defective they might be.
